GA Select has sold the private free-of-tie lease on behalf of Shirley Finney. Mr and Mrs Slack paid close to the £39,950 asking price for the 10-year lease which commenced in 2004. The Slacks are moving to the Peak District from Bangor. The pub trades at roughly £1,500 a week and has a rental value of £21,600 per annum. The property dates back to the 1700s and has a large bar for 440 covers, a dining room for 20 covers and a pool room. The owners' accommodation features two double bedrooms, a lounge and a bathroom. From viewing to completion, the deal took four weeks.

Jim and Beryl Brierley sold the free-of-tie lease off an asking price of £109,950 through agent Humberstones. Steve and Anne Parr bought the pub as a joint venture with their daughter Danni who has been in the trade for eight years. The new owners hope to run the business as successfully as the Brierleys and to put their own stamp on the pub. They aim to develop lunchtime trade. The vendors decided to sell to return to the north to be closer to their family.

Redwoods Dowling Kerr has sold Platform 9, a long established pub, B&B and restaurant in the coastal village of St Bees. The renowned business, which includes a 65-cover restaurant, is situated within a former station house. The property has also been adapted to provide accommodation in the form of three en-suite bedrooms and a one-bed owner's apartment. Buyer Mr Coombs-Goodfellow used to live just across the road from the business and wanted a complete lifestyle change. His wife and daughter have experience in the industry and will help with the business. Previous lessee Joyce Jennings owned the business for 26 years. The property was sold off an asking price of £150,000.

A consortium of local businesspeople created a pub company called Gooseberry Inns to buy the leasehold interest. A former Spirit managed site, the pub was marketed by Christie + Co. The new owners intend to change the menu and concentrate on community events. The property features a 36-cover lounge/bar, 74-cover restaurant, three bedroomed owner's accommodation and a beer garden. The new 10-year lease sold off a guide price of £93,000. Rent is £55,000. Gooseberry Inns was awarded the lease after submitting an "excellent" business plan to Punch.

AW Gore & Co has sold the Crown Inn at Lewes. The town-centre business features eight letting rooms, a bar, 44-cover dining room and a manager's flat as well as four-bedroom living accommodation. The property prompted a lot of interest and the lease sold off an asking price of £135,000.
