Winner of The Publican Freehouse of the Year 2006, the Bay View Inn, in Bude, Cornwall, has been placed on the market for £1.75m.

Owners Alison and Clive Carter have decided to sell to spend more time with their young family and concentrate on other business interests.

Alison is one of the most recognisable faces in the trade and regularly speaks at industry events giving licensees advice on their business.

The Bay View Inn consists of a main bar, a 'surf' bar-restaurant, a 'beach hut' restaurant, lounge bar and a catering kitchen, as well as six en-suite letting rooms. It also includes two refurbished cottages, with two bedrooms - either for personal use, holiday letting or long-term letting.

Alison and Clive have also recently bought a plot in an adjacent field which has planning permission for use as additional parking to accommodate a further 60 vehicles. There is also detailed planning permission in place to extend the current catering kitchens.

For more information call Jon-Paul Humberstone on 01275 377880.
