A new company is hoping to help British brewers reach a global market.

Sovereign Beverage Company has been set up by David Davies (pictures) to help British brewers take advantage of a world beer export market that he says has grown 300% in the past eight years. Sovereign pledges to get brewers' beers to foreign markets by taking on the responsibility for sales and distribution itself.

Most brewers don't have the time or the knowledge to tackle exportSovereign MD David Davies.

Davies said: "The UK is rich in brewing heritage and has superb variety - from traditional ales to ciders and stouts - for which there is a ready market in many countries.

"But most brewers don't have the time or the knowledge to tackle export.

"Our service provides a simple alternative - we just agree a price and then collect the beer it at the brewery gate, manage the distribution and deliver it all the way through to the overseas outlet. We can even organise overseas marketing support to make sure the products are a success."

Sovereign has already run a trial with Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries, delivering 10 tonnes of Marston's Pedigree into Australia for the Ashes.
