What has been the reaction Jade Goody's antics in Big Brother?

There's been little sympathy for her among regulars. Most were delighted when she was voted off. She couldn't even apologise sincerely - she showed her true colours. It's a pity it grabbed big headlines when so many major issues are happening. When it comes to demanding the resignation of Channel 4's chairman, things are serious. I'm sorry that C4 appear to have made so much extra money.

All the locals were delighted when Jade got booted out, but up to then the programme had not caused that much comment in the bar. People were not talking about what she said very much, even when the story was slapped across the papers. But most of our regulars were pretty pleased when she got the heave-ho and there was a lot of applause and cheering when the vote was announced.

We have one TV for sport and one for the "soaps" and a lot our locals were glued to Big Brother. Even those people who claimed that they never watch it were all sitting there waiting to see what Jade was going to do or say next. I've never known a TV programme to cause so much controversial publicity. This has prompted a lot of people to think hard about the issues that the programme threw up.

A few regulars have mentioned it but it hasn't taken over the general conversation around the bar. We are a TV sports pub, if anything, so we did not show the eviction even though one customer demanded that the channels should be switched. Quite a few of our staff have been watching the programme regularly but we were far too busy that night to check how things were going.
