Property agent GA-Select has teamed up with training experts Taylor Hall Associates.

The two companies will be working closely to provide a committed service for both new entrants to the trade and experienced licensees who wish to fine-tune their business and skills set.

In particular, new licensees will be supported through the necessary training requirements, including the personal licence holder exam.

GA-Select managing director Graham Allman said: "When used as a business tool, training will assist and ease the transfer process for people selling and buying pubs because training adds confidence among those new to the trade. Training is also essential within business development and planning exit strategies. It helps increase sales opportunities and bottom-line profits - the two basic levers of any business valuation - and to confirm equity and capital gain."

Taylor Hall director Paul Buchan said GA-Select's list of associated companies, including licensed trade solicitors, chartered accountants, finance brokers, trade mentors and architects, would bring further support to its clients and effectively offer a "one-stop shop." He said: "It is clear that the interests of the clients of the two companies run in parallel."

The move follows the December launch of GA-Select's new division, Select Investments, which is designed to provide tax and investment advice to licensees about to retire.
