Ship Inn, Noss Mayo, South Devon

Agent: Colliers Robert Barry

Lisa and Charlie Bullock have just taken over the Ship Inn, Noss Mayo, South Devon. The couple met working in the trade and have extensive experience of running high-quality,

well-regarded businesses.

The couple ran a pub for 10 years in London's Bethnal Green before relocating to run Kent's Chequers Inn. Having moved briefly into the hotel business two years ago they

realised they would rather work in pubs. The Bullocks bought the Ship Inn earlier this year off an asking price of £2m.

This highly desirable property benefits from a strong trade and reputation and has been known to serve 400 meals on a busy Sunday. Lisa Bullock said: "We don't have any major plans for the business - we want to keep it very much as it is. We've planned a few menu changes and intend to keep up the excellent standards of the previous owners by investing in the maintenance of the pub."

The business offers a relaxed dining experience with food available in various areas of the pub. Main courses are priced

between £8 and £17 and the pub offers up to five real ales, most of which are sourced locally. Bullock is particularly happy that all the staff have stayed on and highly appreciates their support.

The Bullocks are confident that the quality and location of the pub will be all they need to attract trade. Bullock said: "We don't have any marketing plans -they're not required. I just want to be behind the bar with the staff and the customers - I am really hands-on in that respect."
