Bud renews Premier League sponsorship
Budweiser has announced it is renewing its sponsorship of the Premier League.
The worldwide deal will commence on June 1 and has been extended to cover all Anheuser-Busch brands, with the main focus in the UK and China on Budweiser. Budweiser will continue to be "Official Beer of The Premier League" and become "Official Website Partner" until 2010.
Tony Ponturo, vice president of global media and sports marketing at Anheuser-Busch,said: "We are delighted to renew our relationship with what is officially the greatest football league in the world. This ongoing deal will allow Budweiser to reach Premier League fans around the globe.
"Budweiser and the Premier League set the very highest standards in everything that we do, and we look forward to continuing this successful partnership."
Richard Scudamore, chief executive of the Premier League, added: "The Budweiser team has proven they are passionate about football both in England and around the world. The Premier League is fortunate to have a partner whose brand's popularity, like the great game of football, spans the globe. We look forward to continued success with Budweiser."
The lager brand, which has been an official sponsor of the Premier League since 2002, will have the rights to use its corporate logo and Lion and Trophy marks, gain access to selected player imagery and get match tickets for promotional activity.
Budweiser will also become official beer of the 2007 and 2009 Asia Trophy tournaments.
The brand will also continue to be the "official beer" of Manchester United and the FIFA World Cup.
