Join the Courvoisier club

Beam Global UK has launched an initiative to help UK pubs generate more profit from the Cognac category.

The Courvoisier loyalty scheme, part of a £3m investment behind the brand, kicks off this summer with telemarketing and advertising offering quality pubs the chance to participate in the loyalty scheme and become a Courvoisier member.

Pubs will be encouraged to increase sales via a simple collection scheme where bottle-caps can be exchanged for Courvoisier rewards, including laptop computers, garden furniture and clocks.

Club members will also receive quarterly newsletters with seasonal Courvoisier serving ideas, advice on making money from the Cognac category and business-building advice from the BII (British Institute of Innkeeping). Quarterly PoS kits such as Optics, glassware and tent-cards will help members drive sales.

Visit www.beamglobal.com for details.

Action against hunger

A charity is calling for chefs to unite in the fight against hunger.

Action Against Hunger is an international initiative raising money to help families around the world feed themselves.

Involvement in the scheme is free for restaurants, cafés and food pubs. Diners are encouraged to treat themselves to a meal out and businesses can either ask customers to make a donation when paying their bill or pledge a percentage of the cost of a certain dish to the charity.

The year-round campaign will feature October as a special Fight Hunger, Eat Out month, highlighting World Food Day on the 16th.

Visit www.restaurantsagainsthunger.org for more information or call 0208 293 6190.
