Further to a successful first eight months in operation, The Drinkaware Trust is appointing three additional Trustees and a new Chair.

Jean Collingwood, CEO of the Drinkaware Trust said: "We have been hugely privileged to have had Debra Shipley as our first chair and to have benefited from her wealth of political, media and campaigning experience. Debra has been instrumental in the Trust's development and its successes to date. She leaves this role due to personal reasons and takes with her the good wishes of all at the Trust."

The Drinkaware Trust has gained both considerable brand recognition amongst consumers and support from the drinks industry, Government, health and voluntary sectors. In its first six months, the Trust reached just under one and a half million recipients, distributed nearly a quarter of a million educational publications and received half a million visitors to its websites. The popularity of drinkaware.co.uk has grown steadily and now receives over eighty thousand hits and three thousand users per day.

Collingwood, continues: "We are now entering a new stage of implementing our strategic objectives with specific focus on the under 18s and those at potential long term harm. We will be building upon our existing achievements and increasing the Trust's level of activity. We are recruiting a new Chair and additional Trustees as part of this period of growth and expansion."

The Drinkaware Trust is recruiting an independent Chair with no professional interest in alcohol, one Trustee from an alcohol related background and two lay Trustees.
