Courage to become the beer of darts
Courage Best has signed a deal to become the official beer of darts.
Courage Best will become the official beer of the 2007 PasrtyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts amd the 2008 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship after signing a deal with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).
The deal will see iconic beers, Courage Best and Courage Directors stocked at all the tournaments in the coming months.
A further phase of the deal will see the tiered seating at Alexandra Palace for the Ladbrokes.com World Championship over Christmas renamed "The Courage Stand".
Chris Lewis, director of marketing for Wells and Young's Brewing Company, said: "Courage Best and darts fit really well together. Over 30,000 pubs have a dart board, and this very British past time is an institution in pubs and homes across the country.
"The Courage Best sponsorship of darts is a key part of the beer's re-launch as it engages both our drinkers and pubs."
PDC Chief Executive, Tim Darby added: "Courage Best is a nationally recognised beer and it is a pleasure to welcome them as sponsors of the Professional Darts Corporation."
