Jennings hosts world's biggest liar competition

Brewer Jennings is hosting the World's Biggest Liar Competition on 15 November.

The competition to find the world's best porky will be held at the Bridge Inn, Sheffield in association with Copeland council.

"It is a hugely entertaining competition, and an evening for all those who attend,"​ said Councillor Elaine Woodburn.

"I am thrilled that Copeland Borough Council can continue to support one of Copeland's most historical and traditional events."​

The competition attracts worldwide attention as it seeks to award the best tall storyteller the title of The Biggest Liar in the World.

Prizes include a no-expenses paid trip to Timbuktu and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet The Tooth Fairy.

To celebrate this year's contest, Jennings have launched the World's Biggest Liar beer (4.3%abv) - a dark golden brown bitter with a chocolate, toffee and roasted malt aroma - which will be available on the night to cleanse the lying palates of its contestants and the audience.
