The Orchid Group is trialling créches at two of its pubs.

The aim of its Kids Club is that customers can enjoy a meal while their children are looked after in a supervised créche, which are for children age over four.

Working with childcare experts Tinies, the scheme is being trialled for three months.

If successful the plan is to roll the concept out across all sites with have a Fuzzy Ed's or Fun Houses in situ.

"We spotted a gap in the market where parents after a night off and a well-deserved break from the kids could make that happen with total ease and peace of mind through a Kids Club at the same venue in which they're socialising," said Simon Dodd, Commercial Director at Orchid.

The two trial sites, the Porridge Pot in Longbridge, Warwick and the Salt Cellar in Middlewich, Cheshire are thrilled to have been selected for this unique launch.

"The Kids Club goes live on 1st December, and we're sure it'll be a great success enabling parents to enjoy a relaxed evening meal safe in the knowledge their kids are being happily entertained," said Ian Smith, Manager at the Porridge Pot.

Run similarly to a crèche but for older children, childcare agency Tinies recruit and fully train children's workers to look after and engage with the children while parents enjoy a relaxed evening in the pub. Available Monday to Sunday from 5 to 9pm, places can be booked up to 7 days in advance.

"At just £5 for the first hour and £2.50 per hour thereafter, the Kids Club represents terrific value leaving parents with the peace of mind of knowing that their kids are being looked after by fully trained, child experts within an Ofsted accredited site right next to them," said Dean Blake, manager at the Salt Cellar.

Tinies Childcare places child carers in many of the UK's premier health clubs and hotels.
