Carlsberg's Alloa distribution depot under threat
Carlsberg may shut its Alloa distribution centre in August this year.
Workers at the depot are said to be "shocked" by the decision, which could see all 58 jobs lost.
"We are deeply disappointed at the behaviour of Carlsberg UK in announcing the planned closure without any warning whatsoever," said Scott Foley, regional industrial organiser of trade union Unite.
"While management has now opened discussions with the union, the announcement has come as a bolt from the blue, without even being mentioned at our national partnership forum.
"We will now be concentrating on finding alternatives to voluntary redundancy for our members, and we expect management to play a full part in that process."
Carlsberg is blaming the planned closure of the Alloa depot on a decline in the quantity of its own beers and contracted work from others in Scotland.
A Carlsberg spokesman said: "There is a 30-day consultation period before we reach a final decision.
"August is the earliest it could possibly close. It is part of a review of our supply chain in Scotland.
"We will look at other jobs for workers should it close or there could be some voluntary redundancies."
