Employment law help for pubs launched

Pubs are urged to take advantage of free help on employment law.

The Government has launched a campaign to ensure small businesses get help from the website www.businesslink.gov.uk​. The site includes interactive guides to help firms understand their legal obligations.

It features downloadable written statements of employment, help on redundancy statements, a tool to calculate holiday entitlement, and help with managing new and expectant mothers in the workplace.

A survey from the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform said 84% of firms that used the site rated its advice as excellent, very good or good.

Employment relations minister Pat McFadden said: "For small businesses in particular, every penny counts and they shouldn't have to put their hands in their pockets unnecessarily.​

"By using Business Link as their first port of call, businesses could save on the costs of advice.

"Employers will get a clearer picture of their legal obligations towards employees and save themselves time and money too."
