Wear Inns has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Frank Malone to the new role of operations director.

Malone, who has over 15 years experience in the industry with Bass, Whitbread and Spirit, will take responsibility for the day to day operational running of the business leaving managing director John Weir to seek out acquisitions to add to the current six-pub estate.

Weir said: "Our primary corporate objective is to grow the estate.

"We are highly acquisitive and Frank's appointment to this new role will ensure we not only continue to manage our pubs effectively but it will also allow me to pursue suitable acquisitions."

The current Wear Inns estate is located in the North East and Yorkshire and the company is keen to build up their business in these areas and elsewhere across the North and East Midlands.

"All available freehold opportunities in our target areas will be considered whether it be single sales, clusters or small pub groups," Wear added.
