April's Food & Drink Expo will be packed full of live demos, tastings and briefings.

The exhibition will feature more than 600 exhibitors, 11 regional food groups and 11 international pavilions.

Chefs Live! will play host to chef competitions and the 4-days of activities will include team and individual classes from the British Culinary Federation on how to cook everything from pasta to fish.

The Aubrey Allen & British Culinary Federation Chef of the Year competition takes place on Tuesday 8 April and the KNORR National Chef of the Year semi finals take place on Tuesday 8 April 2pm - 5pm and Wednesday 9 April 10am - 5pm. Run in partnership with the Craft Guild of Chefs, Eyck Zimmer, Steve Love, Mark Sargeant and Gordon Ramsay are all previous winners of this coveted title. The winner will walk away with the first prize of £10,000 when the biennial competition culminates in a live final held at the Restaurant Show this autumn.

Among the chefs cooking up a storm are Canada's Kevin Maniaci - executive chef for Inn on the Twenty in Ontario and Stephen Bulmer - head chef of the Brook Hall cookery school.

Food & Drink Expo is taking place with four other shows across eight interconnecting halls at the Birmingham NEC April 6 - 9.
