Tadcaster Pub Company has nearly halved the size of its estate by selling 30 tenanted and leased pubs to Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises (S&NPE).
It leaves the North Yorkshire company with an estate of 36 pubs and hotels.
The 30-strong package, which was sold for an undisclosed sum, contains a mix of sites spread across South Yorkshire and Humberside, and as far north as Newcastle.
A third of the sites have letting rooms and over half have strong food offers.
Jim Walsh, chairman of Tadcaster Pub Company and Tadcaster Hotels & Inns, said: "This was an important opportunity for our business to take advantage of the changing market over the next few years.
"We continue to have a keen appetite to expand both the pub and hotel sides of our business."
Noel Moffitt, director of Christie + Co, which handled the deal, said: "We are delighted to have acted on behalf of Tadcaster on the disposal of this package, which will further enhance S&NPE's estate in the North."
