GAME IS always popular on pub menus, and pubs can expand customers' horizons with the latest products from 3G Food Service.

The specialist chilled and frozen distributor has launched a range of bison and wild boar burgers and sausages which aims to capitalise on an increasing demand for specialist meats.

"Consumers are becoming increasingly well travelled and, as a result, there's a rising demand for exotic meats," said Alex Brown, 3G purchasing director.

"As a nation, we are becoming more adventurous when it comes to new foods and flavours."

With the summer season looming, the burgers and sausages are ideal for the barbecue, and can also be versatile additions to the menu.

Alex said: "Bison can be served in similar ways to beef, with horseradish, mustard or red wine sauces as ideal accompaniments."

The wild boar comes from Australia, while the bison hails from North America. Full details can be obtained by calling the 3G Customer Service Centre on 0870 850 5213 or by visiting www.3gfoodservice.co.uk

A popular addition to pub menus, it works well served with dauphinoise or fondant potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The dish is sold in 400g packs containing 12 portions, and is available through 3663, www.3663.co.uk

Premium sausage rollJus-Rol has launched a new premium sausage roll for those occasions when only a proper snack will do. Made with prime cuts of British pork and wrapped in light and flaky pastry - the range has one of the highest meat contents on the market.

The sausage rolls are available in three flavours - premium pork, premium pork & leek and premium pork & smoked bacon.

John McKears, foodservice sales manager at Jus-Rol, said: "The sausage roll is fundamentally British, which is why we have developed a premium roll that is as traditional as possible by using only quality British pork and pastry and good wholesome ingredients." As well as a satisfying snack, the choice of flavours mean the range also works well as a meal option with a side serving of salad or chips.
