PubChef editor Jo Bruce will be leading the discussion on "quality trading in a challenging marketplace" at a BII Wessex regional event.

Bruce (pictured) will talk on how food has never been so important to pubs looking to succeed in the current mini recession.

Rory Doudin of Hunt's Foodservice in Sherborne will advise on adapting menu offerings within the resources available.

Rory Stapleton, better known to some as the Jolly Vintner of Tiverton, will share his thoughts on how to stand out with a well-balanced wine list.

Event sponsor Patrick McCaig of Otter Brewery will discuss how a good cask ale offering can combat the cheap deals in the supermarkets.

Finally, BII client development director John Melia will provide an update on training schemes.

Tickets for the event to be held on 17 June at the Eagle Tavern in Buckland St Mary are just £20.
