Carlsberg rolls-out portable beer dispense system
Carlsberg has launched an on-trade version of its innovative beer dispense system, DraughtMaster, in the UK.
The wheelable unit contains a recyclable plastic keg, holding 35 pints of Carlsberg Export, and keeps the beer fresh for 21 days.
The system is principally aimed for low-throughput outlets such as hotels, restaurants and café bars.
But Carlsberg hopes pubs will use the system in "secondary areas", such as beer gardens.
Speaking at a press launch, Nick Howells, marketing manager for DraughtMaster, said: "This isn't designed to replace the existing system, but to complement it. The opportunities are endless for people looking at secondary siting after the smoking ban."
He added that a number of major pubcos had made "direct contact" with Carlsberg about the system.
Carlsberg also confirmed that it would consider launching the system to dispense other drinks, such as real ale, if the DraughtMaster proves successful.
DraugtMaster will initially be supplied by 3663 Catering Equipment.
