Three Sisters has birthday makeover
One of Edinburgh's most famous bars has undergone a major refurbishment to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
The Three Sisters, in the historic Cowgate, which dates back to 1621, has had it interior stripped back to its natural state.
It is the most extensive redevelopment of the bar since it opened in 1998.
"We wanted to restore and showcase the magnificent character of the building," said Nikki Foulis, in-house designer at Festival Inns, which owns the bar.
"Introducing complementary, natural elements such as reclaimed wood and high quality leather, add a timeless appeal that translates well to both daytime dining and a bright-eyed party outlook."
The bar is also looking to develop as a live music venue and is hosting free concerts showcasing some of Scotland's best new and established live acts every Sunday night.
Iain Pert, Festival Inns' director, said: "The refurbishment has been the perfect opportunity to inject a little sophistication and class in to the bar - The Three Sisters has grown up."
