Newcastle Brown Ale is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Angel of the North by introducing special edition labels across the on and off trade.

The celebratory front label shows Antony Gormley's statue and the new back label provides a brief description of the iconic symbol of regeneration.

The statue, which stands more than 20 metres high and has a wingspan of 54 metres, overlooks Gateshead and Newcastle upon Tyne from the edge of the A1.

It is seen by more than 90,000 people every day.

John Edwards, marketing director of Jygsaw Brands, said: "The Angel of the North represents so much about the community of the North East.

"They are exceptionally proud of their heritage and we are as equally passionate about it. Just as 'The Star of the North' with its iconic blue star, recently celebrated its first 80 years, so we are proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this great North East landmark and in doing so promote the culture the people and the whole of the North East."
