'Drinkers fall into nine groups'

The government believes it has identified nine types of heavy drinker as it launches a new alcohol campaign. These ranged from de-stress and depressed drinkers to people who boozed because of boredom or to bond. Experts said helping people to understand the reasons for their drinking habits was "very useful" - BBC News​

Guinness has launched a £5m TV campaign, featuring hundreds of acrobats in gold bodysuits, designed to drive people into pubs at 17:59 - or "Guinness Time". The time 17:59 is a play on the year 1759 when Ireland's famous drink was first brewed in Dublin - The Guardian​

A British tourist was refused service in two pubs in Hungary because she is black. Laure Mague, 34, went to a bar to watch football with friends but was furious when told she was barred. She said: "I couldn't believe it. I've never had anything like that in my life. They might as well have put a sign on the door 'No Blacks Allowed'." Sectarian graffiti has been sprayed on a pub linked to the Rangers legend Andy Goram. The graffiti was left just days after Goram announced he and a friend planned to turn Stonefield Tavern in Blantyre, into a Gers-themed bar. The sprayed slogans included "IRA" and the Irish Republican war cry "Tiocfaidharla" - our day will come - The Sun​
