London brewer and operator Fuller's has opened a new training centre.

The new Centre of Excellence includes a full working cellar and bar as well as a classroom and conference facilities.

The centre will be used to help train licensees, staff and free-trade customers and has a range of BII accredited courses on offer including cask and keg beer management, health and safety, product knowledge and presentation.

Fuller's previous training centre, the Hock Cellar, will now be free to accommodate more guests on Fuller's brewery tours.

"I am really proud of the new training centre and am excited by the opportunities it will give us to host even more courses as they are always in demand," said technical services manager Emma Watts. "We expect to train over 1,000 people over the course of the next year."

John Roberts, managing director of Fuller's Beer Company, added: "Beer quality is of paramount importance to Fuller's, as discerning beer drinkers will often hunt out pubs with a reputation for serving a good pint.

"Whatever a customer orders, they expect it in perfect condition, and we aim to help publicans provide exactly that, every time.

"Good cellar craft is a critical skill for any bar person and I am delighted that the new centre will allow us to train even more people in the art of serving a good pint."
