Barnsley based Acorn Brewery has launched Yorkshire Pride as the fifth cask ale in its permanent portfolio.

The pale 3.7% abv ale was first brewed to celebrate Yorkshire Day but has now been afforded permanent status. It has already been rolled out across the Market Town Taverns estate of 10 unbranded outlets.

"Yorkshire Pride sold so well as a special this year we had many licensees asking us for more," said Acorn managing director and head brewer Dave Hughes.

"So, at a time when we were looking to expand our core range, we simply had to include it as a permanently listed beer.

"It was extremely fitting to launch Yorkshire Pride with Market Town Taverns as their pubs are beacons for cask beer in Yorkshire, providing first class surroundings for our ales to be well displayed and delivered."

Simon Midgley, Market Town Taverns operations director said: "Cask ale is an essential part of our offer, alongside a wide range of continental beers, fine wines and a quality home cooked food offer. Yorkshire Pride is a first class white rose beer and we believe it will go down very well with our discerning customers."
