Marston's rolls out online payroll service

Marston's is rolling out its online payroll system to other non-licensed sectors.

The system aims to make payroll administration easy for employers and is available for a charge of just £1 per payslip.

The system has been trialled across Marston's pub estate and will now be offered to other sectors including hairdressers, dentists and solicitors.

"We rolled it out to our own pub landlords and tenants," said Marston's David Abel. "We also encouraged free houses that we supply to use it. So already, between 8,000-10,000 people a week rely on it for their wages."

"The user just needs to input the hours or days that each employee has worked and we'll do the rest. We'll post pay slips in the unique, secure online area so that all the business has to do is download them and print them out."

He added: "It's completely secure, totally confidential and all records are fully archived and if the business has any questions, we have payroll experts ready to help with enquiries."
