Jan Roberts, licensee of Longboat pub at Duston, Northamptonshire, has been made a Nectar Points millionaire.

Customers can expect to see some treats on the menu after Jan was named first prize winner in a promotion run by supplier Brakes, which saw more than 2.5m loyalty points given away in total.

Jan said: "I still can't quite believe it! We've been collecting Nectar points with Brakes since we set up, so we signed up straight away. We've been re-investing them into the business by using the points to buy seasonal produce."

The pub serves traditional food every day, along with a busy Sunday lunch trade. Jan, who took on the lease last year, said: "This pub is a new challenge for us, Brakes has provided help with setting up our menus, pricing and lots of friendly advice."

James Armitage, marketing director, Brakes, said: "The Nectar Business scheme genuinely helps businesses by giving them something back. Nectar customers are able to collect points that can be used against personal treats like theatre trips or spa days, rewards for staff such as day trips and gifts or even spend points on Brakes vouchers for their businesses."
