Diageo trials draught cocktails
Diageo has trialled a draught cocktail dispense system in a number of pubs.
The new spirit and mixer dispense system is fount-operated and allows bartenders to quickly serve drinks with consistent quality. The spirit used is blended with a mixer and a natural fruit pulp. The trials took place for between five and seven weeks in outlets in Birmingham. The trial has now been completed, and Diageo is reviewing its findings and the possibility of rolling the product out.
There are two mixed spirit drinks initially being trialled: Smirnoff Mojito, consisting of Smirnoff vodka, mint and lime; and Morgan's Spiced Cuba Libre, consisting of Morgan's Spiced, cola and lime. However, it is thought that other spirit and mixer drinks combinations could be run through the system.
The recommended serve is 200ml over ice, and the two drinks on trial both have an ABV of 5.5 per cent.
A spokeswoman said: "Diageo is continually focused on delivering genuine and interesting innovation into the drinks industry to respond to consumer trends and ensure people can enjoy consistently great tasting drinks."
