Ember Inns managers in the East are celebrating after scooping a host of prizes at the pub group's annual awards.

The Essex and East Anglia districts of the Mitchell's & Butlers brand picked up a total of four out the nine awards available.

Billy and Georgina Barnes at the Chelmer Tavern in Chelmsford won the Core Standards Prize, Belinda Cheeseman at the Quart Pot in Wickford was named newcomer of the year and Sarah Jeffries at The Harrow in Hornchurch was presented with two trophies - for Marketing Pub of the Year and Southern Manager of the Year

District manager Colin Brown said: "I am thrilled that the outstanding performance of my managers has been recognised at such a high level across such a breadth of categories.

"They have all worked incredibly hard over the past 12 months and there is a genuine will to deliver across the whole district.

Double winner Sarah added: "We have worked closely with the local community to build a fantastic guest experience and raise our profile - our aim is for everyone in the area to think of The Harrow as their fun local pub where they can always pop down for a drink or bite to eat with friends."
