Michelin star chef Paul Ripley is cooking up a storm at the St Kew Inn after taking over the helm at the Cornish pub.

The pub, near Wadebridge, is being run by Ripley and his partner Sarah Allen. Ripley's impressive culinary CV includes a Michelin star and 11 years as Rick Stein's head chef, as well as running his own restaurant — Ripley's in St Merryn, Cornwall.

Allen is also no stranger to the catering and hospitality industry having spent eight years at Rick Steins' Padstow restaurant.

The couple are now setting their sights on transforming the St Austell Brewery pub into one of the region's leading food pubs.

"We're incredibly proud and delighted to be at the St Kew Inn and the feedback we've had since starting has been fantastic," said Ripley.

"What we're really looking to do is make a fantastic reputation for the St Kew Inn and providing fine, locally sourced food, in a relaxed environment will be top of the agenda."

St Austell Brewery estate director, Adam Luck added: "We're delighted to welcome Paul and Sarah as tenants at the St Kew. It's a fantastic accolade to St Austell Brewery to have them on board.

"Our pubs are building a reputation for excellent, locally sourced foods and, with Paul and Sarah's impressive talent, local knowledge of the pub trade and their enthusiasm, customers at the St Kew Inn can look forward to a wonderful time ahead."
