Search is on for best pub Jazz band

The Morning Advertiser has for the second time joined forces with Budweiser Budvar and the Budvar Cheltenham Jazz Festival to launch the third year of Budvar Brewed Jazz.

Budvar Brewed Jazz is a celebration of the UK jazz pub scene and those musicians that play in pubs, bars and clubs and are the backbone of jazz in the UK.

We believe they deserve a wider audience and the chance to showcase their talents on a bigger stage.

So the aim of Budvar Brewed Jazz is to find the best and give them a chance to play at two major UK events. Finalists will be guaranteed a spot among the world's greats at the Budvar Cheltenham Jazz Festival itself (28 April to 4 May) and at the new Pub In The Park event, a celebration of the great British pub, in Greenwich Park this September.

The music can be any style from New Orleans through to big band and bebop; from solo performers to large groups; and from cool, free, Latin and soul to fusion, acid, jazz rap and punk.

A panel of jazz experts will listen to every entry and identify the top three. These entrants will be invited to a play-off at the jazz festival before a panel of the UK's top jazz experts, musicians and critics where a winner will be decided.

All you have to do is submit a short sample track, not more than 10 minutes long, on a CD, along with the completed form, which can be cut out below. Alternatively, send in a link to a MySpace page or an MP3 via email to: wrzzn.cevpr@purygraunzsrfgvinyf.pbz​.
