Enterprise Inns has hired consultancy firm Gleeds to develop a web based help desk for licensees dealing with repair work in their pubs.

After Gleeds was appointed it identified a number of problems with the pubco's existing service and set up a "web based help desk".

The website is set to initially cover 1,100 of the pubco's 7,500 tenanted and leased pubs to ensure that maintenance work, electrical and mechanical services at the pubs are well managed.

The firm has also set up a cost management system known as FM2 to help licensees deal with the costs of hiring a contractor.

Gleeds partner Neil Malik said: "The appeal of our service is that, not only do we provide the help for the built environment, but in this case the publican knows exactly how much it is going to cost - vital when public houses are facing tough economic challenges at this time."

Ian Mynett, divisional facilities manager at Enterprise Inns, said: "We are delighted that Gleeds and Enterprise Inns will be working together using such an innovative FM solution."
