The Heart & Club pub in Harlow, Essex is set to reopen after it was bought by the Welcome Pub Company.

The leasehold for the two storey community pub, which had been closed since 2007 was bought for an undisclosed sum off and asking price of £75,000.

Welcome Pub Company was set up two and a half years ago by Mike Mc Dougal and Vinod Vaghella. The company's first pub was Genevas in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The Heart & Club will become the tenth venue to be run by the company. It will continue to be run as a pub and restaurant.

Vaghella said the move was a good investment .

"There are not many other pubs in the area. I think the nearest one is about half an hour away. It will also be good to provide a service to the local community and create some more jobs there."

The property was sold by agent Christie + Co. John Grace from Christies Ipswich office said: + Co, said: "It is refreshing to see, despite the recent well-publicised pub closures, the re-opening of a local community pub such as the Heart & Club."
