Mitchells & Butlers picked up three awards at the Menu Innovation Network`s inaugural Menu Innovation and Development Awards (MIDAS) last week.

The City Bar Dining award went to Tim Marchant for All Bar One, while both the Dessert and Premium Pub Dining awards went to Terry Day for Miller & Carter. Other pub co winners included Jameson Robinson of JD Wetherspoon, who picked up the Town & Local Pub award; Kevin Steppe, of the Spirit Group, who won the Branded Pub Restaurant award for Chef & Brewer; and Dave Rust, of Whitbread, picked up the Kids award for Table Table.

A team of mystery diners and judges, with considerable experience of multi unit

menu operations, were tasked, over the six weeks leading up to the awards, with deciding the winners in each of the 12 categories.

All winners, along with a member from each category sponsor, will embark on the Menu Innovation Network`s five day research and insight tour of Chicago in May.

The Menu Innovation Network has been created by Inside Food Service as a vehicle for group menu development managers and group executive chefs to interact and exchange information.
