Scottish independent retail chain CJ Lang has been crowned 2008 BII NITA Supreme Award winner.

The retailer picked up the award at this week's BII Annual Lunch in London after judges said its commitment to training and staff progression was a clear example of best practice in the sector.

Other 2008 BII NITA awards - which celebrate the best trainers and training programmes across licensed retail - were presented to companies including Marston's, JD Wetherspoon and Punch Taverns, after they were announced in January.
