'FSA looks into share dealing in pub firms'

The regulator is looking at trading in the shares of Punch Taverns and Enterprise Inns ahead of the publication of a controversial report into the pub companies' business models last week. Wales' rural pubs will be crippled by regulation designed to curb a binge-drinking culture that is largely an urban problem, a leading industry group has warned. The Government is considering banning happy hours, forcing pubs and clubs to serve drinks in smaller glasses, and stopping off-licences and other retailers from displaying alcohol at checkouts. The British Beer & Pub Association also says the Government is planning new regulations designed to turn the voluntary Challenge 21 scheme aimed at curbing under-age drinking into a compulsory code - Wales Online​

A Polish traveller has ended up documenting binge-drinking culture in the UK. Maciej Dakowicz was keen to get a few snaps of local life during his stay in Britain. His resulting picture album, however, could do with an X certificate. Taken over a series of Friday and Saturday nights on the streets of Cardiff, the Polish student's images provide a shocking insight into alcohol-fuelled debauchery in the Welsh capital.
