'Wild side alcohol ad banned by ASA'

An alcohol advertising campaign showing a woman seducing a man and turning into a leopard has been banned by the ASA after a complaint from Alcohol Concern objecting that it linked drinking to seduction and sexual success.The press campaign, for Wild Africa Cream, featured the strapline "Unleash your wild side" next to four claw-marks and an image of a man and woman passionately embracing - The Guardian​

Greene King, the brewer and pub owner, on Thursday said that recent trading had been strong, partly thanks to sunny weather and increased spending from mortgage borrowers benefiting from lower interest rates. It reported five per cent like-for-like sales growth in its managed pub arm, Greene King Retail, for the eight weeks to June 28, although its leased and tenanted pubs - run by semi-independent publicans - continued to see sales declines - Financial Times​

One in four underage alcohol drinkers consumes more than 20 units a week, a survey has claimed. Researchers found alarming habits among thousands of young people aged 14 to 17 in north-west England. One in two young people admitted drinking to get drunk, one in 20 drink alone and one in six regretted having sex after consuming alcohol - Daily Express​
