Chelsea and Hull first up on Sky
Details of the first Premier League games to be broadcast by Sky next season have been released.
The first fixture on Saturday August 15 will see Chelsea, under the new management of Carlo Ancelotti, take on Hull City, who only just avoided relegation on the final day of last season.
The following day pubs can try to drive trade with a double header with champions Manchester United taking on newly-promoted Birmingham City, followed by Tottenham Hotspur against last year's league runners-up Liverpool.
So far a total of 48 live games have been confirmed up to the end of November.
Barney Francis, managing director of Sky Sports, said: "The initial set of fixtures are as strong as we have had since we began coverage of the Premier League.
"We have 11 major derbies, five head-to-heads between last season's top four teams and every Barclays Premier League club shown live before the end of November."
This season a total 138 games will be available to Sky Ultimate subscribers on Sky Sports and ESPN, which has taken over rights previously owned by Setanta.
