Irish cider Magners has launched a search to find an official taste tester with a salary of £50,000.
The search for the honorary position is underway online and in free, leased and tenanted pubs. In addition to the title, the recipient will receive a one-off wage of £50,000.
The official taste tester will also receive:
• VIP trip to Co Tipperary and the "Freedom of the Clonmel Orchards"
• The Official Taste Tester bench, inscribed and situated in the orchards
• An apple tree planted in their honour
• Specially commissioned Official Taste Tester stone
• Inscribed Magners cider tankard
• A year's supply of Magners Original Cider
The role forms part of a £4.5m summer campaign investment in the brand, which includes providing retailers with a weekly weather forecast.
"We've already had a lot of interest from our customers who I'm sure would relish the opportunity to become the Official Taste Tester for Magners," said operations manager for Bruce Taverns, Simon Rankin.
Scott Fairbairn, marketing manager for Magners added: "We're really excited about the new initiatives which we've introduced to help support the new summer campaign, and feel that they will continue to drive interest for the brand.
"We've also placed an increased emphasis on up weighting our visibility in outlets including glassware, back bar displays, door stickers, bar runners and T-shirts.
"The response we've received from the trade on the Taste Tester promotion has been really positive.
"The eye-catching Point of Sale has really captured the attention of consumers. It's a great opportunity to learn more about our company and the craft and heritage of our product."
The closing date for entries is 17 October 2009 and the winner will be announced by 17 November 2009.
