Red Mist Leisure, the Surrey-based group, has bought three pubs it leased from Punch Taverns for an undisclosed sum.

Christie + Co's Winchester office has assisted Red Mist Leisure in the deal. Red Mist Leisure, which  was founded by Mark Robson and Mark Williams in 2004, has acquired the freehold interest of the Queens Head in East Clandon near Guildford; the Stag on the River in Eashing near Godalming; and the Duke of Cambridge in Tilford near Farnham.

Earlier this year, Christie + Co sold the leasehold interest of the Half Moon in Charlwood on behalf of Red Mist Leisure to Yvonne Wright and Camilla Nash.

Mark Robson said: "We are very pleased to have been able to purchase the freeholds of these pubs and we are now planning substantial investment into each of them to significantly improve their quality, this will include creating letting accommodation."

Keith Goodwin, associate director at Christie + Co's Winchester office, said: "The current economic downturn has given a number of lessees the opportunity of purchasing the freehold of their pub which most would never have thought possible."
