Pub property agent to change name

South Yorkshire-based property agents and valuers Brownill Bateman is revert to its old name of Brownill Vickers to celebrate its 125th anniversary.

The company says the move will allow it to trade on its rich heritage and operate under a name which many clients in the region still use.

"We have listened to our clients over several months and its clear that most still refer to us as Brownill Vickers.

"They continue to regard this as representing the most recognisable name for us even though we have not used it for some six years," said managing partner Martin Nicholson.

"This year represents an important landmark for us when we celebrate 125 years of valuation, survey schedule, sale, letting rent review, dispute resolution and management services which are being conducted on an increasingly larger scale.

"We have been proud to be at the forefront of various initiatives throughout our history and we have shown that a firm of our size can consistently punch above its weight.

"A good name is a rich heritage and we will with immediate effect be reverting to our recognised title of Brownill Vickers," he added.

A structural move will also see changes to the company's fixtures, fittings and changeover property business.

This will now be operated on a national basis from Brownill's Sheffield office with partner Nick Giles heading up the new division.

The workload in this sector has been historically shared with the company's Derby office which has led to substantial new business gains into the south and west midlands.

The new operation will now undertake fixtures and changeover work throughout the country.
