London brewer has awarded its Pub of the Year accolade to The Victoria, in London's Bayswater district.

The pub, managed by Chris Cochran and Helen Wilson, walked away with the brewer's Griffin Trophy at a ceremony held last week.

The Victoria is no stranger to the top prize, having won the competition two years ago.

Presenting the award Fuller's chairman, Michael Turner, said: "The Victoria is a truly classic London pub and a real jewel in Fuller's crown.

"The pub sits right at the heart of its community and attracts a wide range of customers, from tourists to local residents. While the customers may be varied, Chris, Helen and their team make sure they all receive the same excellent service once inside The Victoria."

Cochran and Wilson were "a fantastic couple who, as well as running this amazing, multi award-winning pub, have trained a number of other managers who have gone on to great success in Fuller's pubs", Turner added.

"I am extremely proud of Chris, Helen and The Victoria and am delighted to award them the Griffin Trophy once again."

The Griffin Trophy is awarded to the Fuller's pub that is judged to deliver the highest standards in every aspect of its business. The overall winner is selected from the winners of the three main categories, Best City Pub, Best Country/Village Pub and Best Town/Local Pub.

The winner receives a holiday to the value of £3,000, £500 to share with the pub's staff, a commemorative plaque and the coveted Griffin Trophy itself.
