Breakfast sales soar at Town & City pubs

Breakfast sales at Town & City pubs have increased 479% since the company emerged from the pre-pack administration of Laurel Pub Company in early 2008.

Food sales across the whole estate have also grown 22% in that time.

"Year on year we've outperformed our targets on our food side," said George Wright, head of marketing at Town & City Pub Company.

"The breakfast offer has really caught on with our customers who realise that we are beating the sandwich bar or deli hands down in terms of quality delivery and price.

"We are constantly reviewing our menus, introducing better deals and improved quality dishes, and our customers appear to be loving it."

The news comes as Town & City unveiled its new winter menu across its high street brand Yates's and its traditional estate, which includes Litten Tree's, Hogshead's and a number of unbranded pubs.

Yates's is now offering hot drinks for 99p, a bacon buttie and hot drink for £1.49 while the Curry Club has been extended to every day of the week. For £4.95, diners get a drink of their choice, a curry, poppadum, a yoghurt and mint dip, mango chutney and naan bread.

In the traditional estate, the focus is on pies. Customers can get a choice of four pies — Fish Pie, Cottage Pie, Chicken, Ham and Leek and Steak and Ale — for £4.95 each. Larger sites will have a choice of eight pies.

Across the whole estate, customers can also enjoy a two or three set course Christmas menu from £5.95 or a party buffet from £3.95.
