Some nine out of 10 tenants at Cornish family brewer St Austell say they are happy with their relationship with their area manager, according to a new survey.

The survey, carried out by PR agency Elliott People, asked the firm's 140 pub tenants "Are you happy with the quality of beer from St Austell Brewery?", to which 99% of tenants responded positively.

When asked if they were content with the level of support received from Head Office, 85% of tenants said yes. In terms of training, 76% of tenants surveyed were satisified with the level of service they received, while 72% were happy with the training courses on offer. Furthermore, 89% of tenants were happy with their relationship with their area manager and 79% agreed that he or she had a good understanding of their business.

Adam Luck, St Austell Brewery estate director, said: "It is imperative to our business that we listen to the views of our tenants and we felt it the right time to gauge their perception of us as a business. Our key focus moving forward will be to address the areas where we can deliver better. It is our aim to surpass tenants' expectations in all areas and be known as a great brewery tenants want to be part of."

Jo Lynch, account manager at Elliott People said: "The results clearly demonstrate the fact that St Austell is a well respected brewery in the eyes of its tenants. They are committed to supporting and working with their tenants through any issues and the excellent results from this survey are testament to that commitment."

Some 72 tenants responded to the survey.
