Living Room managing director Danny Fox is to leave his post following Orchid Group's acquisition of Premium Bars & Restaurants.

The move was expected after Orchid acquired 43 Premium Bars and Restaurants sites, including 13 Living Room sites, from administrators in December.

Darren Traynor, who previously ran Orchid's carvery business, is now expected to head operations at the Living Room brand.

Fox is to pursue other interests within the industry but will temporarily remain with the company to ensure a smooth handover.

He was a founding shareholder of The Living Room in 1999. "I've learnt a lot from developing The Living Room and had a great time doing it," he said.

"It's a fantastic brand and I'm happy to leave it in the capable hands of Orchid Pubs & Dining.

"Orchid is well placed to pick up the reins and their expertise will no doubt take The Living Room forward."

Rufus Hall, chief executive of the Orchid Group, added: "We wish Danny every future success and appreciate his support."
