Oxford pub the Fishes has been named as "the favourite pub" of Greene King head brewer John Bexon.

The Peach Pubs venue's reward is a unique beer, brewed specially for the pub alone and supplied for one month only until early February.

A pub is chosen for the honour each month, based on the quality and performance of its cask beer offering.

Only venues that are part of the Greene King Head Brewer's Club are eligible for the award.

"We were delighted to hear that we had been singled out by the head brewer," said general manager Katie Robertson. "The gift of our very own, unique beer was a fantastic way to start the New Year.
