Pub trade analysts CGA Strategy has launched an improved version of its alcohol brands measurement programme.

CGA claims the new Brand Index 2.0 will give "those involved in the GB alcohol industry the strongest ever market read".

It will now break down performance of brands across six key performance indicators, including volume, value and price. Each indicator can be analysed at national or regional level or by sector — wet-led pub, circuit bar or social club.

"CGA is committed to a culture of continuous improvement with improved customer service and more actionable insight founded on the best available market read," said CGA chief executive Jon Collins. "Brand Index 2.0 gives us that foundation."

CGA plans to extend coverage of the soft drinks and wine categories through the new system in the coming year.
