Gingerman Restaurants, the East Sussex-based pub and restaurant operator, has acquired its fourth site, a freehold in Brighton, for an undisclosed sum.

The group, founded by husband-and-wife-team Ben and Pamela McKellar in 1998, has acquired the Wellington in Kemp Town.

They are currently running a competition to name the former Punch Taverns pub via the social networking site Facebook.

Pamela McKellar said the new site would be run in the same way as their existing pubs, the Ginger Pig and Ginger Fox, with a menu that features locally-sourced food from Sussex farmers. The new site will also feature a private room for 30 people and hopes to benefit from clients at American Express and a nearby hospital.
