Hook Norton celebrates St George's Day by bringing its 303AD back to the bar.

The latest beer in its Brewers Selection series, named after the date of the martyr's death, will be on sale throughout April.

The 4% ABV beer, which is made with English malt and English hops, is described as being dry and crisp with a hint of citrus and banana. It is considered to be excellent with most foods but it works well with many non-meat dishes and is a superb compliment to English lamb and beef.

"303AD is brewed with a small proportion of amber malt, and the innovative and environmentally friendly dwarf hop variety First Gold," said managing director James Clarke. "Hook Norton 303AD has a citrus, lemon finish. It is not too sweet, and is an ideal beer to drink with a meal and goes particularly well with red meat."
