Liberation Group buys Luminar site

Channel Islands pub and drinks business The Liberation Group has bought a nightclub site from Luminar.

The venue, the Bar, is located on Jersey's Waterfront. 'The Bar' is understood to one of three sites to be exited by Luminar.

The chief executive of the Liberation Group, Mark Crowther, said: "We are delighted to acquire this flagship site and expand on to the Waterfront community for the first time.

"The new burst of activity on the Waterfront and at Castle Quay is adding fresh interest to this part of St Helier and we look forward to catering for a new and growing audience.

"We appreciate the past few weeks have been an unsettling time for staff employed by Luminar and we will be doing all we can to help secure jobs for them both at our newly acquired 'the Bar' along with our other Liberation Group sites."

The Liberation Group took over running 'the Bar' from Luminar on Tuesday (6 April) whilst getting the necessary approvals in place over the coming weeks.
